Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Duties
Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes using dental practice management software such as EZ Dental.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance claims processing, and handle billing using Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth systems
Maintain accurate and organized dental records, including documentation review and medical history updates
Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking x-rays, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answer patient inquiries, and coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently
Conduct intake procedures for new patients, review care plans, and update medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9) for billing purposes
Perform administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing office supplies, and supporting office management activities to ensure a seamless clinic workflow
Qualifications
Proven experience in a dental office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative support
Proficiency in dental practice management software
Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, insurance verification, and billing procedures
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key typing), and familiarity with multi-line phone systems
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; candidates should demonstrate excellent customer service skills and professional phone etiquette
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
