Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join a professional healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist dentists during patient procedures, maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, and provide exceptional patient care while ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before patient appointments.
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
Take and record patient medical histories and vital information.
Prepare patients for treatment and provide chairside assistance.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations, if certified.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental record systems.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering dental supplies.
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent experience.
Current Dental Assistant certification, registration, or licensure as required by the state.
Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required based on facility).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a dental clinic, hospital, or public health setting.
Experience assisting with restorative, preventive, and emergency dental procedures.
Familiarity with electronic dental records (EDR).
Experience taking digital dental X-rays.
Pay: Up to $29.00 per hour
