Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information and treatment details
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care
Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and compliance
Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient flow
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning properly
Follow all infection control protocols, including proper sterilization techniques and handling of medical records
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient documentation
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices ensures compliance with privacy standards
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and pediatric patient management is a plus
Hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools enhances your versatility
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is required
Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards
