Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages, especially those in pediatric dentistry. You will support the clinical team by managing medical and dental documentation, operating dental imaging equipment, and maintaining strict infection control standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in general dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics while making a positive impact on patient health and confidence.

Duties
Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools are ready for use.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Gather and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information to support comprehensive patient assessments.

Manage patient flow by greeting patients as they arrive, answering questions, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks as a dental receptionist when needed.

Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems while adhering to HIPAA standards for confidentiality.

Follow infection control protocols including aseptic techniques and proper handling of dental instruments to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff..

Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing vital signs measurement.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.

Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately.

Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and patient privacy.

Understanding of various dental specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, general dentistry, and pediatric dentistry to support diverse patient needs.

Ability to work efficiently in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry for optimal patient care flow.
