Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
Take and develop X-ray images using digital radiography systems, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed.
Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, verifying insurance information, and scheduling appointments efficiently.
Maintain accurate medical documentation including medical records, dental terminology notes, and coding for billing purposes using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse when necessary to ensure patient safety during treatments.
Uphold strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to protect patients and staff alike.
Support the dental team with administrative duties such as managing medical documentation, assisting with medical coding, and maintaining organized files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and handling dental terminology confidently.
Knowledge of dental software platforms for scheduling, record keeping, and billing is advantageous.
Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus; understanding pediatric-specific needs enhances patient care.
Familiarity with 3D scanners or medical imaging tools can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
