Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment to ensure readiness for patient procedures.
Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR), OpenDental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintain dental equipment to uphold the highest standards of infection control.
Take vital signs and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care and safety.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology or procedures.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies is required to ensure compliance and professionalism.
Proficiency with dental software such as OpenDental, Dentrix or Patient Management Software is advantageous for efficient record keeping.
Hands-on experience with dental X-ray techniques, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools will be beneficial.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures is necessary for maintaining a safe environment.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is ideal but not required
