Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, infection control, and patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient appointments.
Take dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical history documentation, and explaining procedures to patients.
Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and knowledge of anatomy and dental terminology.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
Operate advanced imaging equipment like 3D scanners when required for treatment planning or diagnostics.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is essential; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is highly preferred.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is required; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is critical for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
Understanding of dental terminology related to various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry enhances patient communication.
