Job Description

At Medical Arts Dentistry, we do more than just care for smiles—we improve our patients' overall quality of life. Alongside our high-quality general dentistry, we host a thriving Dental Sleep Medicine program. We specialize in custom oral appliance therapy (OAT) to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), helping our patients breathe easier, sleep better, and live healthier lives.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Dental Assistant who is excited to specialize in this highly rewarding, life-changing field of dentistry. Whether you are already experienced in dental sleep medicine or are a motivated DA looking for specialized training, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)1. Clinical Support & Appliance Therapy
Precision Records: Take high-quality digital impressions (via intraoral scanner) and precise bite registrations specifically for custom mandibular advancement devices (MADs).

Appliance Fitting & Titration: Assist the doctor during the initial delivery, fitting, and ongoing titration (micro-adjustments) of sleep appliances.

Patient Screenings: Assist with initial sleep screenings, collecting vitals, and helping patients navigate airway assessment tools or questionnaires (e.g., STOP-BANG, Epworth Sleepiness Scale).

General Chairside Assisting: Provide excellent, comfortable chairside assistance for general and cosmetic procedures when needed.

2. Patient Education & Care Coordination
Therapy Coaching: Educate patients on how to use, care for, and clean their sleep appliances, setting clear expectations for their treatment journey.

Compliance Tracking: Check in on patients during follow-up visits to monitor comfort, manage minor side effects, and encourage long-term compliance.

Medical Collaboration: Help coordinate with referring sleep physicians, prepare clinical notes, and handle documentation required for sleep studies and medical-dental collaboration.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
Certification: Active Dental Assistant license/certification as required by GA (e.g., RDA, CDA).

The Tech Factor: Experience with intraoral scanning (e.g., iTero, Trios) is highly preferred.

Communication Skills: Warm, empathetic, and exceptionally clear when speaking with patients about their health and habits.

Dental Sleep Experience (A Plus, Not a Dealbreaker): Experience with sleep appliances (like SomnoMed, ProSomnus, or Panthera) or familiarity with sleep study workflows is a major plus, but we are fully willing to train the right candidate!

Why You’ll Love Working With Us (Benefits & Perks)
Specialized Training: Paid continuing education and hands-on training in Dental Sleep Medicine.

Comprehensive Benefits: [Health Insurance, 401(k) matching, Paid Time Off, dental benefits].

Innovative Environment: Work with modern technology (digital workflows, cutting-edge airway diagnostics) in a supportive, collaborative team culture.

Fulfilling Work: Experience the unique professional satisfaction of treating systemic health issues and seeing patients' energy and health transform.
