Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality and yet compassionate dental patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring it is clean and organized.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Record medical history and vital signs of patients accurately.
Manage medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
Maintain infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required.
Support pediatric dentistry needs by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
Occasionally perform receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of medical documentation practices.
Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their significance in dental care.
Experience with medical imaging techniques, including X-rays.
Understanding of infection control standards within a dental setting.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
Familiarity with 3D scanning technology is advantageous but not required.
