Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment! Responsibilities
Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments using dental instruments and equipment.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental trays, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies.
Provide chairside assistance during procedures by managing dental instruments, materials, and patient comfort measures.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to support overall patient care and safety.
Support patient management through effective communication, appointment scheduling, and answering questions about treatments or procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and sterilization procedures.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry, including oral structures involved in oral surgery and endodontics.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting; additional certifications in medical terminology or pediatric dentistry are a plus.
