Job Description
Parkland Dental Associates is a modern, patient-focused dental clinic in the heart of Stony Plain, Alberta. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care in a warm and friendly environment. We're looking for a Registered Dental Assistant to join our clinical team.
As one of our RDA’s, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while keeping our clinic organized, efficient, and welcoming. This is a dynamic position that combines a comprehensive team-lead approach with updated dental technologies to allow for compassionate & individualized patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support
Take and maintain all patient records, including digital radiographs, intraoral/extraoral photographs, and intraoral scans
Provide chairside assistance for a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implants, and Invisalign
Maintain clinical cleanliness: sterilization area, operatories, and dental instruments
Set up operatories before appointments and disinfect them after treatment
Run sterilizer tests & maintain accurate logs
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments following CDSA protocols
Coordinate appointment scheduling & provide financial estimates in collaboration with Client Care Coordinators
Maintain patient records in accordance with CDSA protocols
Manage clinical communications and documentation, including treatment plans, referrals, lab cases, and insurance pre-authorizations; liaise with pharmacies; perform schedule audits; and oversee supply ordering
Patient & Team Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact and support for patients throughout their appointments, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience from arrival to departure.
Actively contribute to the morning huddle and team energy
Communicate concisely, comprehensively and accurately with patients and other team members
What You Bring
Registered and in good standing with College of Alberta Dental Assistants
Experience with dental software (Curve Hero familiarity is an asset but not required)
Digital scanning and Invisalign experience preferred
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and work well in a team
Maintains professionalism under pressure, fosters a respectful and positive team environment, and upholds integrity in all interactions
