Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures and excellent interpersonal skills to support both the dental team and patients.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software using Power Practice.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
Manage sterilization of instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment areas.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
Support orthodontic procedures if necessary.
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient communication and scheduling.
Handle pediatric patients with care, ensuring their comfort during visits.
Requirements
Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with orthodontics or pediatrics is a plus.
Proficient in using dental software such as Power Practice for record management.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate patient records.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate care.
Certification in Dental Assisting is required.
