Overview
Only 3 days/week
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly impact patient care and comfort. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met.
Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating medical documentation accurately.
Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary and assist with medical documentation related to medical coding and records management.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable.
Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas like prosthodontics or endodontics.
Knowledge of X-ray procedures, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and coordinate with team members including dental receptionists.
