Job Description
Job Summary
Join our new practice as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Duties
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to uphold clinic safety.
Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, verify insurance details, and handle medical documentation efficiently.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar.
Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting including X-ray taking, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging.
Knowledge of dental specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics; experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous.
Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes is beneficial.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to HIPAA standards.
