Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic position, you will support dentists and hygienists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their visit. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and organizing supplies for various procedures
Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring safety protocols are followed using CAD (computer-aided design) tools when applicable
Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions about procedures
Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and handling administrative tasks related to the dental reception area
Assist with pediatrics or orthodontics cases as needed, demonstrating flexibility and specialized knowledge in these areas
Skills
Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Dentrix and Epic for scheduling, record keeping, and billing
Experience assisting with orthodontic treatments or pediatrics is highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures for clear communication within the team
Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques including sterilization, radiography (X-ray) procedures, and patient care protocols
Familiarity with CAD tools used in digital impressions or orthodontic planning is a plus
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
