Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental chairs with precision while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Take dental X-rays in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring patient safety and accurate medical imaging documentation.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Open Dental; document medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes accurately.
Support patient management by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures clearly, and providing compassionate patient care throughout their visit.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while processing dental instruments and sterilizing equipment according to infection control standards.
Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency during procedures.
Assist with dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures to uphold the highest standards of infection prevention management.
Support the dental receptionist duties when needed by scheduling appointments, managing patient check-in/out processes, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is required.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental is essential for managing medical documentation effectively.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and general dentistry procedures is required to support clinical operations confidently.
Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery assistance, endodontics procedures, prosthodontics support, and pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices along with aseptic techniques ensures compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
Ability to operate dental equipment safely while maintaining high standards of infection control is critical for success in this role.
