Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The Dental Assistant will support dentists during examinations and procedures, prepare patients for treatment, maintain infection control standards, and assist with administrative tasks to provide high-quality patient care. Must have a NJ X-ray license.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before patient appointments.
Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment.
Take and develop dental X-rays (where permitted by state regulations).
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive dental practices.
Record patient medical histories and update dental records.
Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and manage patient records.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and place orders as needed.
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety regulations.
Provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for patients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program (preferred).
Current Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required by state regulations.
CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required).
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards.
Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records is an advantage.
Overview
Pay: $25.46 - $32.00 per hour
