Job Description
Job Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Baltimore Children’s Surgery Center
Job Type: Part-Time (In-person)
Pay: $22.00 – $29.00 per hour
At Baltimore Children’s Surgery Center, our mission is simple but powerful: to make surgical care less intimidating and more compassionate for every child we serve. We specialize in pediatric dental surgeries, and we’re looking for a PRN Dental Assistant who is passionate about making a difference — someone who brings both clinical skill and genuine heart to their work.
This isn’t just another dental assistant role. It’s an opportunity to support children and families during vulnerable moments and to be part of a team committed to creating a calm, safe, and supportive surgical experience.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Support dentists during procedures, helping ensure each child feels safe and cared for
Prepare treatment areas and equipment with precision and attention to detail
Take and develop dental x-rays to support accurate diagnoses
Provide reassurance and guidance to patients and families, reinforcing positive oral health habits
Maintain accurate patient records and support smooth clinic operations
Contribute to a clean, organized, and welcoming surgical environment
Uphold strict infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
Assist with inventory management and ensure clinical teams have the tools they need to provide excellent care
You will work under the guidance of the Site Director and collaborate closely with the broader clinical team to deliver mission-driven care each day.
What We’re Looking For:
Certified Dental Assistant with an active radiology license
BLS certification (required)
Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience (pediatric experience preferred)
Warm, empathetic communicator — especially with children and families
Strong multitasking skills with a calm, steady presence in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control standards
A team-oriented mindset and commitment to patient safety, respect, and dignity
