Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure clinical environments uphold the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients while maintaining efficient clinic workflows.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document medical history, treatment notes, and procedural details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient well-being before, during, and after treatments to ensure safety.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures.
Uphold strict infection prevention management protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, adhering to clinical confidentiality policies, and maintaining a sterile environment for all clinical activities.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental assisting procedures.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient Management Software; familiarity with medical documentation and medical coding is a plus.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, dental equipment operation, and infection control standards.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following radiation safety guidelines; experience with dental x-ray machines is preferred.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Certification in Dental Radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in endodontics or oral surgery are beneficial.
