Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient Management Software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing patient care, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency
Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation to ensure patient safety during procedures
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and dental sterilization procedures
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and appointments
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures
Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools effectively and safely
Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control expertise
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in patient management roles are highly valued
Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred; willingness to learn new skills related to medical imaging and advanced dental procedures is essential
