Job Summary

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments according to infection prevention management protocols and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including updating medical documentation and coding procedures appropriately.
Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history details to support comprehensive patient care.
Maintain strict infection control standards by following dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently.
Assist with medical imaging procedures using advanced tools like 3D scanners when required for complex cases.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times.
Support the clinical team with dental instrument processing, ensuring all tools are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored for safe reuse.
Qualifications
Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient medical records management.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques and oral surgery protocols.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently across various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral surgery.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding practices relevant to dental documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team using four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency.
Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus.
