Job Description
We are looking for a full time surgical assistant to join our team. Willing to train the right candidate. Hourly salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Providing complete support to surgeon throughout routine in-office surgical procedures, including extractions, placement of dental implants, and removal of pathological lesions.
Participating in monitoring patient’s vital statistics, assistance with anesthesia/sedation, nitrous-oxide and intravenous fluids during surgery.
Reviewing pre-op and post-op instructions with patients.
Reviewing patient health history and updates practice management software.
Acquiring diagnostic x-rays.
Preparing and break down surgical tray and operatory.
Sterilizing instruments after surgery.
Performing routine equipment maintenance.
Qualifications and Required Skills for this Role:
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Superior organizational skills.
Must be friendly and be able to maintain a smile and positive attitude in high-pressured environments.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks.
Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office.
Experience and Education Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program (Preferred).
2+ years of experience in a private practice, surgical facility and/or hospital setting.
Prior experience in dentistry is required and oral surgery experience is a plus.
License and Certification Minimum Requirements
Current Radiology Certification for the state of Massachusetts.
Current Dental Assisting License issued by the Board of Registration in Dentistry
Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) (Preferred)
Current CPR certification (Required)
