Job Overview

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient comfort, and supporting patients through their dental visits with professionalism and empathy.
Oversee the processing of dental instruments to maintain proper sterilization standards and ensure readiness for upcoming appointments.
Support the dental reception team by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments through patient management software, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices.
Proficiency with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for medical documentation and records management.
Knowledge of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention practices.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and clinical confidentiality policies.
Experience performing dental assisting tasks such as taking vital signs, medical documentation, and supporting oral surgery or endodontic procedures is advantageous.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to all safety protocols.
