Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs during procedures. Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient intake, and updating medical documentation and records efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, following infection control standards and ensuring all tools are sterilized according to best practices.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with experience using Epic or similar dental documentation software. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is required. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in radiography is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental assistants, hygienists, receptionists, and specialists like prosthodontists or pediatric dentists. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
