Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support general dentistry and specialized procedures such as oral surgery, orthodontics, and cosmetic procedures. As a key member of our clinical team, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and infection prevention management according to aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists during various procedures.
Take digital dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining patient safety protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details.
Provide patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient anxiety, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures adhering to strict infection control policies.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with patient management software, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control expertise.
Ability to take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging devices safely.
Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral surgery procedures.
Certification in dental radiography (X-ray) is preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
