Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists and general dentists during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient appointments.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including panoramic and intraoral images, adhering to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.

Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, orthodontic care instructions, and post-treatment procedures to promote optimal oral health outcomes.

Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing patient management software for seamless clinic operations.

Maintain strict infection control standards by following dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and clinical confidentiality policies at all times.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with specific expertise in orthodontics; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.

Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation and records management.

Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray technology and oral surgery support.

Strong understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control practices.

Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately while maintaining patient comfort.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, ensuring they feel safe and informed throughout their visit.

Commitment to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance to protect patient information at all times.

Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or RDA), with additional training or experience in orthodontics preferred.
