Job Overview
We are looking for a certified dental assistant or dental assistant to Join our dynamic dental team 4 days per week and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing high-quality treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient care, and clinical technology will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused setting dedicated to excellence in general dentistry. The position is 4 days per week at this time.
Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
Coronal polishing and sealants
Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering strictly to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary for patients with special needs or medical histories.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, updating medical records, and managing medical coding for billing purposes.
Educate patients on oral health care practices tailored to their needs, including pediatric dentistry tips and prosthodontic care instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and proper anatomy knowledge to handle all dental equipment safely.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting is advantageous.
Proficiency in using dental software platforms like Epic or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and diagnoses.
Experience with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and maintaining a sterile environment within a busy dental practice.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to effectively support young patients through their treatments.
Ability to operate advanced imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to safety standards.
