Job Description
Stellar Career College is seeking an experienced and passionate Dental Assisting Instructor for a 6-week contract position. This is an excellent opportunity for a dental professional who enjoys mentoring others and wants to share their knowledge and experience with future dental assistants in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, excellent communication skills, and a desire to help students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the dental field.
As a Dental Assisting Instructor, you will play a critical role in educating and mentoring students enrolled in our Dental Assisting program. You will deliver engaging classroom instruction, support student learning, and ensure students receive the quality education and preparation expected from Stellar Career College.
A Dental Assisting Instructor does more than teach skills—they serve as a professional role model and help shape the next generation of dental assisting professionals.
Contract Details
Position Length: 6-week contract assignment
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
Location: In-person at Stellar Career College – Modesto Campus
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Instruct, manage, and supervise students enrolled in the Dental Assisting diploma program using effective teaching methods.
Deliver prepared lesson plans and classroom instruction for Dental Assisting program modules.
Provide direct instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on training to students.
Maintain an organized, safe, and effective learning environment.
Ensure course content is delivered according to College curriculum standards and expectations.
Support student success through effective communication, encouragement, and professional guidance.
Provide feedback and assistance to help students develop technical and professional skills.
Utilize effective communication skills to present information clearly and accurately to students and staff.
Participate in professional development activities as applicable.
Maintain compliance with College policies, procedures, FERPA requirements, and applicable regulations.
Become familiar with and follow academic policies outlined in the College Catalog and Student Handbook.
Serve as a professional role model for students entering the dental assisting profession.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of continuous dental assisting experience required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable working with adult learners in a classroom environment
Strong computer skills specifically MS Office and Dentrix.
Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
