Job Description

Overview

Duties
Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and check them in efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate with dental staff, and manage calendar updates to optimize clinic flow
Collect and process payments, including medical collections and insurance co-pays, ensuring accuracy in billing procedures
Review medical records, documentation, and care plans for completeness and compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing clear information about appointments, insurance questions, or patient inquiries
Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical documentation, and correspondence in accordance with health information management standards
Support administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools, typing reports, and performing 10 key typing for billing or record keeping
Skills
Proven experience in medical office management or dental clinic administrative support with strong clerical skills
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation review and record management
Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures
Excellent customer service skills with phone etiquette and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records management software
Previous clinic or hospital experience is preferred to navigate clinical confidentiality policies efficiently
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and appointment scheduling
