Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Your proactive approach will help streamline office operations, coordinate patient appointments, verify insurance coverage, and maintain accurate medical records. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as SoftDent, Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers, ensuring accurate billing processes.
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing procedures with attention to detail using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Meditech.
Manage patient records by updating medical histories, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and take detailed messages.
Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up on outstanding balances using dental billing software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and office documents; ensure confidentiality at all times.
Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology).
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing).
Spanish speaking abilities is a must to better serve diverse patient populations.
Experience with insurance verification processes involving Medicare or other government programs is advantageous.
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette to handle patient inquiries effectively.
