Job Description
Front Desk Coordinator — Growth-Focused, No Dental Experience Required
Location: Escondido, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18–$22/hr (starting at $18; higher within range for candidates who bring relevant experience) + real advancement opportunity
Build a dental career with a practice that's going places.
TLC Escondido Dental is a modern, patient-focused practice that's actively growing — and we're looking for a Front Desk Coordinator who is positive, motivated, and excited to grow with us. Our mission is to create confident, lasting smiles by delivering high-quality dental care rooted in trust, leadership, and compassion, and we're building toward becoming the most trusted dental provider in Southern California.
This is more than a front desk role. It's the start of a long-term career, with genuine advancement as we expand.
Who we're really looking for
We're excited to meet driven, growth-minded people who may not come from dentistry — but bring the qualities that can't be taught. We'll teach you the dental side. What we're looking for is the person underneath the résumé.
You'll thrive here if you:
Follow through on what you commit to, every time — that reliability is what patients and teammates trust you for (Trust)
Take ownership of your results and the patient in front of you, without waiting to be told (Ownership)
Hold a high standard for your work, even under pressure, and keep improving it (Excellence)
Welcome feedback and apply it quickly to get better (Growth)
Bring genuine patience and empathy to every patient — especially on the hard days (Compassion)
Want clear expectations and honest measurement of how you're doing (Accountability)
These six values are the standard our whole team is measured and rewarded against. If that sounds like the kind of environment you want to grow in, we'd love to meet you.
Position overview
As Front Desk Coordinator, you'll be the first and last point of contact for our patients — handling scheduling, communication, and the daily flow of the practice. You'll create a smooth, positive experience for every patient and be a key part of a growth-focused team. We're looking for someone friendly, confident, organized, and eager to learn.
Growth & advancement
We build for the future and promote from within. This role offers a path into senior front desk, treatment coordination, or leadership; skill development in communication, organization, and practice operations; a supportive team that holds high standards; and stability within an expanding organization.
How to apply
If you enjoy working with people and want to be part of a practice that's going places, we'd love to meet you. Apply on Indeed and please answer all of the application questions below — they help us get to know you beyond your résumé.
Application Questions
Please answer every question. You may paste your answers at the end of your résumé or upload them as a separate document.
1. Which is most true about how you approach your work?
☐ I do my job well and prefer to stick to what I already know
☐ I'll take on more when asked, but I don't usually go looking for it
☐ I actively look for ways to improve, learn, and take on more than my job description
2. When a manager gives you direct feedback or corrects how you did something, what's your honest reaction?
☐ I take it personally and it bothers me for a while
☐ I accept it and adjust when I have to
☐ I want the feedback — it's how I get better, and I apply it right away
3. When something goes wrong on your watch — even if it wasn't your fault — what do you do first?
☐ Wait for someone to tell me how to handle it
☐ Make sure people understand it wasn't my fault
☐ Take responsibility for fixing it and make sure the patient is handled
4. When you tell a coworker or patient you'll take care of something, how often does it actually get done?
☐ Usually, though a few things slip when I get busy
☐ Most of the time — I try to follow through
☐ Every time — if I said I'd do it, it's done, without a reminder
5. A patient is upset, rude, or scared during the busiest part of your day. How do you handle them?
☐ I stay polite but I'm mostly focused on getting through the rush
☐ I do my best to help while managing everything else
☐ I slow down and treat them with patience and empathy — especially because it's hard
6. On a busy, understaffed day, what happens to the quality of your work?
☐ It's normal for quality to drop when things get crazy
☐ I keep things acceptable and catch up later
☐ I hold the same high standard no matter how busy it gets
7. In this role your performance is measured against clear numbers and expectations, reviewed regularly. How does that sit with you?
☐ I'd rather not be measured that closely
☐ I'm okay with it as long as expectations are fair
☐ I want it — clear expectations and honest scorekeeping are how I know I'm winning
8. Tell us about a time you saw a problem nobody asked you to fix — and you fixed it anyway. What was it, what did you do, and what happened? (Short answer)
9. Tell us about a time you fell short of what was expected. How did you handle it? (Short answer)
