Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Front Desk Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for a positive patient experience. In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a friendly and efficient front desk environment.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software.
Collect and process payments, including medical billing and insurance claims, ensuring accuracy with CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and Medicare procedures.
Manage patient records with meticulous attention to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance.
Verify insurance coverage, explain benefits, and assist patients with health insurance questions related to dental care plans.
Handle phone communication with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and providing exceptional customer service.
Maintain accurate documentation review, filing, and data entry using Microsoft Office tools and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
Support clinic operations by managing medical records, electronic health records (EHR), appointment scheduling, and office organization.
Assist in billing processes by reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with health information management standards.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient clinic functioning.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a medical or dental front desk role with strong knowledge of medical office management practices.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
Knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, Medicaid, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and HIPAA regulations.
Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities.
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (including 10 key typing).
Clinic experience in a dental setting is highly preferred; bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations.
Ability to handle medical billing processes accurately while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review.
Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry, medical records management, and administrative support tasks.
