Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our practice, responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical team with essential administrative tasks. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a busy dental practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service at all times
Schedule patient appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including health insurance knowledge and insurance verification procedures
Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing tasks accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Meditech or Epic
Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies, ensuring accurate documentation review
Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries or appointment rescheduling
Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, dental charts, and other administrative documents
Support clinical staff by managing intake forms, medical documentation review, and coordinating care plans when necessary
Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and typing (including 10 key typing) to update records and correspondence efficiently
Assist with office management duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean, welcoming front desk environment
Experience
Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, with familiarity in dental terminology and medical billing processes
Experience working with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks
Knowledge of health insurance procedures including Medicare, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and documentation
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy is maintained at all times
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
Demonstrated customer service skills in a healthcare setting with excellent phone etiquette and communication abilities
Office experience involving clerical support, medical scheduling, insurance verification, and health information management
