Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and check in efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as OpenDental.
Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and rescheduling to optimize daily workflow.
Collect and process payments, insurance information, and perform medical billing tasks including Medicare and health insurance claims.
Review medical documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Maintain accurate medical records, update patient information, and review documentation for completeness.
Handle incoming calls with professionalism, providing excellent customer service while managing appointment scheduling and patient inquiries.
Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and documentation review to support billing processes.
Support office management by filing documents, managing electronic health records (EHR), and performing clerical duties such as typing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and filing.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care plans and treatment schedules.
Requirements
Proven experience in a medical office setting or dental front desk role with strong administrative support skills.
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as OpenDental or similar platforms.
Familiarity with medical billing procedures, health insurance processes, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare claims, and documentation review.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person; phone etiquette is a must.
Bilingual abilities are highly preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Strong computer skills including data entry, filing, and managing electronic health records management systems.
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and documentation review.
Prior clinic experience or healthcare administrative experience is highly desirable; familiarity with health information management is a plus.
