Job Description
Front Desk Receptionist – Part-Time
About The Ortho Co.
The Ortho Co. is a new, family-owned private orthodontic practice founded and led by Dr. Karan Patel, opening in Winter Garden and Horizon West. We are building our office around a simple idea: orthodontic care should feel personal, welcoming, exciting, and completely different from the traditional clinical experience.
Dr. Patel is deeply focused on creating an exceptional culture for both patients and team members, with an emphasis on quality, attention to detail, and genuine relationships. We want every person who walks through our doors, calls our office, or reaches out to us to feel welcomed, known, and cared for from their very first interaction.
We are looking for a Front Desk Receptionist who is energetic, warm, organized, dependable, and genuinely loves connecting with people. This role will be a major part of the personality of our office. You will often be the first voice a patient hears and the first face they see, so we are looking for someone who can make people feel comfortable and at home from the moment they connect with us.
We have a big vision for what it should feel like to work in an orthodontic office, too. We want our team to enjoy coming to work, feel proud of the experience we create together, and have fun doing it. From unique uniform options and fun staff accessories to community events, school events, team experiences, and opportunities to help shape our office culture, we want working at The Ortho Co. to feel different in the best possible way.
Your Role at The Ortho Co.
Create a warm and welcoming first impression for patients and families in person, by phone, text, and other communication channels.
Greet patients and help make every visit feel personal, organized, and comfortable.
Answer phones, respond to messages, and help patients navigate scheduling and general questions.
Schedule and confirm appointments while helping maintain an efficient patient schedule.
Collect and organize patient information and assist with forms, records, and administrative tasks.
Assist with payments and basic financial communication as needed.
Learn and use our modern cloud-based practice management systems and communication tools.
Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and comfortable reception and patient experience area.
Communicate closely with Dr. Patel and the clinical team to help each day run smoothly.
Assist with patient follow-up and communication so families always feel informed and cared for.
Participate in community events, school events, and other opportunities to represent The Ortho Co. outside the office.
Help us continuously improve the way patients experience our practice from their first interaction through every visit.
Who We’re Looking For
We care just as much about personality, attitude, and culture fit as we do about prior experience.
We are looking for someone who is:
Energetic, happy, and positive at work.
Naturally warm, friendly, and comfortable talking with people.
Excellent at communicating in person, by phone, and through written messages.
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Dependable and committed to providing a consistent, high-quality experience.
Comfortable learning new technology and systems.
Excited to work as part of a close-knit team.
Willing to help wherever needed as a new practice grows.
Passionate about making people feel welcomed and cared for.
Excited by the idea of helping us change what it feels like to visit an orthodontic office.
Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are strongly preferred and would be especially valued as we serve the diverse families in our community.
Previous dental, orthodontic, medical, hospitality, customer service, or front-office experience is preferred, but we are open to the right candidate with a strong personality, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow with us.
Schedule
Part-time, approximately 16–24 hours per week initially, with the opportunity for additional hours and growth as the practice expands.
What We Offer
Paid training and orientation.
On-the-job training.
Uniform allowance and unique team apparel options.
Employee and family orthodontic benefits.
Free parking.
Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Participation in community and school events.
The opportunity to join a brand-new practice early and have a meaningful role in shaping its culture and future.
Our Culture
The Ortho Co. is being built around the belief that great orthodontics is about much more than straight teeth. It is about relationships, trust, quality, and creating an experience people genuinely enjoy.
For this role especially, we believe the patient experience begins long before someone sits in the orthodontic chair. A welcoming phone call, a thoughtful message, remembering someone’s name, helping a parent feel comfortable, and greeting a family with genuine warmth all matter.
We want our patients to feel at home here, and we want our team to feel the same way.
If you are looking for more than just another front desk job and want to be part of a team that is excited to build something new, meaningful, and fun, we would love to meet you.
