Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, as well as experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. The Dental Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and enhancing patient experiences.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Process patient information using EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
Handle medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes.
Assist in managing patient inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
Coordinate with dental staff to ensure efficient patient flow during appointments.
Provide support in chairside assisting when necessary, including taking vital signs and performing basic x-ray procedures.
Uphold infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within the clinic.
Stay informed about dental terminology and procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical imaging.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
Proficiency in EMR systems; experience with Open Dental is highly desirable.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and records management.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Certification or training in dental assisting is advantageous but not required.
