Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventive dental care and patient education. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists and other team members to promote oral health, prevent dental disease, and ensure a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis (teeth cleanings), periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing procedures.
Conduct oral health assessments and document findings.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with state regulations.
Screen patients for signs of oral diseases, including periodontal disease and oral cancer.
Record medical and dental histories and update patient records.
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment recommendations.
Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive agents.
Assist dentists in diagnosing and treating dental conditions.
Maintain infection control protocols and sterilization procedures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable state dental board regulations.
Manage patient appointments efficiently and provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
Current Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and patient care standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with dental software and electronic health records preferred.
Skills
Clinical proficiency in preventive and periodontal care.
Strong patient education and motivational skills.
Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dental team.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $400.00 - $550.00 per day
