Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygiene Assistant to support our dental team in delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
Assist providers during various clinical procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection prevention management.
Sterilize and stock operatories to ensure maximum efficiency
Prepare dental instruments and equipment, including dental sterilization procedures and handling dental instruments with precision.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and coding.
Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management before, during, and after treatment to promote comfort and safety.
Support the dental reception area by managing appointment scheduling, patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally as needed
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control standards and dental sterilization procedures.
Educate patients on oral health practices, dental terminology, and post-treatment care instructions to enhance overall patient experience.
Requirements
Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and oral surgery support.
Familiarity with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental instruments.
Knowledge of EMR systems like Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records effectively.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Strong grasp of terminology relevant to dentistry to facilitate accurate documentation.
Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining high standards of infection prevention management.
Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude toward patient care and team collaboration.
