Position Overview
Christopher Nelis, DDS is seeking a Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our team part-time , with the potential for the position to grow as the practice continues to expand.
The Dental Hygiene Coordinator supports the hygiene department by ensuring an organized, productive, and patient-centered schedule. This role works closely with the hygienists, doctors, and administrative team to maximize hygiene opportunities, improve patient communication, and support practice growth
The ideal candidate is organized, takes initiative , detail-oriented, positive, and solution-oriented, with great customer service skills and a genuine desire to help both patients and team members succeed.
Responsibilities
Hygiene Schedule Management
Patient Retention & Communication
Support for the Hygiene Team
Hygiene Department Growth
Monitor and maintain an efficient, productive hygiene schedule.
Identify openings, cancellations, and areas of opportunity within the schedule.
Work proactively to fill open hygiene appointments.
Maintain appropriate scheduling for new patients, continuing-care patients, periodontal therapy, and other hygiene services.
Monitor upcoming hygiene appointments and identify potential scheduling concerns.
Assist with reactivating patients who are overdue for hygiene care.
Help minimize gaps in the hygiene schedule and reduce lost production opportunities.
Work with the administrative team to ensure scheduling procedures are consistent.
Experience
Previous Dental Experience required
Fluent in Spanish to help with our large population of Spanish speaking patients
Positive attitude with a growth mindset.
Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy in documentation review and data entry tasks.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
