Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice on either a part-time or full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and oral health, with comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and dental office operations. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing preventive care, patient education, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental team. Your expertise will help ensure our patients receive exceptional service in a welcoming and professional environment.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Assist with dental procedures by preparing the treatment area and providing chairside support during treatments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies.
Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Support general dentistry services with documentation review, medical coding, and managing electronic medical records (EMR systems).
Skills
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Expertise in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement and basic medical assessments accurately.
Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques within a dental setting.
