Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix.
Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety.
Monitor patient vital signs during visits to identify any health concerns that may require further attention.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
Skills
Proficiency with dental practice management software: Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Experience in pediatric dentistry and working with children.
Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
Ability to accurately perform medical imaging procedures like X-rays while ensuring patient comfort.
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient needs.
Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Ability to assess patient health status through vital signs monitoring and documentation review.
