Job Summary

Duties
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety through proper technique.
Conduct vital signs assessments and review medical history to support accurate patient evaluation.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits.
Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques that improve efficiency and comfort during treatments.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatment details thoroughly.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection control.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and smooth practice operations.
Manage patient flow efficiently by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for use.
Uphold HIPAA compliance by maintaining patient confidentiality and securely managing medical records in accordance with legal standards.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic environment.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Hands-on experience with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control practices.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while demonstrating attention to detail in documentation review and medical coding processes.
