Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office standards.
Review documentation, update medical records, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and documentation management.
Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
Skilled in chairside assisting, patient care, patient assessment, and medical records management.
Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical imaging procedures.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
