Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and patient assessment techniques. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dentist and other staff to ensure a high standard of care in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy
Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical histories
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Utilize Eaglesoft or Dentrix software for documentation and patient records management
Maintain accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations
Implement aseptic techniques to ensure infection control in the clinical setting
Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient experience and care quality
Stay updated on advancements in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry practices
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
Experience with EMR systems is preferred
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols
Previous experience in a dental clinic or office setting is highly desirable
Strong skills in patient care, assessment, and documentation review
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous
Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients and provide compassionate care
