Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Assess patient oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to improve their dental health outcomes.
Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
Follow infection prevention management protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to healthcare infection control standards.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry practices preferred.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation review.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping.
Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and following radiation safety guidelines.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
