Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status to inform treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and managing sterilization of dental tools and equipment.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software platforms like Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping.
Expertise in infection control practices, healthcare safety standards, and HIPAA compliance management.
Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
Familiarity with dental equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for efficient workflow.
