- Perform dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in the state of [Location]
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral health conditions
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or similar
- Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and adherence to safety guidelines
Skills:
- Proficient in using dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or similar
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems
- Expertise in infection control practices to maintain a safe environment
- Ability to accurately record and maintain patient medical records
- Knowledge of anatomy to assist with treatment planning and understanding patient needs
- Proficient in taking vital signs during patient assessments
