We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs to ensure safe treatment procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive dental care strategies tailored to individual needs.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Manage infection control procedures, including sterilization of dental equipment and aseptic techniques, to uphold safety standards.
Monitor patient comfort throughout treatments, providing support and reassurance as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and uphold high standards of dental care.
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with state licensing requirements fulfilled.
Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling purposes.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
Familiarity with dental equipment, X-ray machines, and medical imaging techniques.
Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention, control practices, and HIPAA compliance management.
Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse patient populations effectively.
Experience with EMR/EHR management, documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining medical records.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
