Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits to prevent dental issues.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with efficiency and professionalism.
Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as progident, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide support with orthodontic care by assisting with appliance adjustments and patient instructions.
Communicate clearly with patients in multiple languages (bilingual preferred) to ensure understanding of treatment plans and post-care instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized operatories and sterilize instruments following infection control standards.
Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment that eases anxiety and encourages positive dental experiences.
Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere by collaborating with dental assistants, front office staff, and specialists.
Skills
Proficiency in progident or similar dental practice management software for scheduling, charting, and billing.
Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and appliances is highly desirable.
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Strong background in dental assisting techniques combined with excellent customer service skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced dental office environment with attention to detail.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dentistry for accurate documentation and communication.
Passion for pediatric dentistry with the ability to make young patients comfortable during visits.
