Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar, polishing teeth, and applying fluoride treatments
- Conduct thorough oral examinations to identify any signs of oral diseases or abnormalities
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining good oral health
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation when necessary
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, medical histories, and progress notes
- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages
Experience:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in Florida
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Proficiency in infection control procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of medical coding and electronic health record systems (Epic)
- Familiarity with taking vital signs and recording patient information accurately
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral health conditions
